Highly flexible sensors and IMUs which meet a number of specific requirements (weight, size, accuracy, etc.), are also used for other military applications, including platform stabilization, image/camera stabilization, targeting systems, navigation and guidance of micro UAV or guided munitions (e.g. Guided Ammunition).

In the area of tactical applications, Northrop Grumman Italia participates in several international programmes by providing Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) based on silicon accelerometers and proven dry-tuned, FOG or MEMS gyros combined in a small, lightweight and very modular design. Several solutions are currently in large production for FSAF, SAAMP and IRIS-T missile programs where the quest for high performance in the hardest operational environments is the challenge.
